Microcurrent Facial Toning

$150 (1 Hour)

Facial contouring is not a given, especially as we age. With the loss of volume and collagen also comes the dismantling of muscle firmness in the face. This is not an area of the body that we regularly work out to keep it toned. As a result, most people will notice that their cheeks get flattered over time and that their jawline gets softer. Microcurrent facial toning is the professional-grade workout for your face that can resolve these and other issues.

We recommend that all New Clients start with our "Fresh Start Consultation & Treatment" to assess your skin care needs. At this time, our team will educate you on how your skin is functioning, skin care products and customize treatment goals.

What is NeurotriS Microcurrent Facial Toning?

Microcurrent facials are not new (Jennifer Aniston has been getting them for years) but they are newly popular. This noninvasive treatment tones and tightens not only the skin but the underlying muscle by delivering tiny currents of electricity that mimic the body’s natural electrical current. This current is what makes the heartbeat and the lungs breath. The body readily accepts microcurrent because it is familiar with this energy.

The low-level electricity delivered during microcurrent treatments triggers chemical reactions in the cells beneath the skin. These sleepy cells get stimulated by the electrical current to produce more ATP, cellular energy, collagen, and elastin. The increase in circulation and cellular activity re-educates muscles so they become firmer, smoother, and more contoured. This stimulation also softens lines and wrinkles on the surface. Microcurrent facial toning could be described as yoga for your face.

What Conditions Does Microcurrent Facial Toning Treat?

Being a stimulating technology, microcurrent can be used for a number of improvements. It works to promote the natural regeneration of the skin using the same level of electrical current the body makes. As such, microcurrent can:

  • Improve the muscle tone on the face and neck
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds
  • Improve circulation through the skin to promote tissue regeneration
  • Lift the jowls and eyebrows
  • Assist with natural lymphatic drainage from the face and neck
  • Promote cellular renewal that reduces acne and skin irritation
  • Improve tissue elasticity and firmness

Is Microcurrent Facial Toning Safe?

Microcurrent technology has been around since the 1800s. It has been widely used in physical therapy and as a treatment for Bell’s palsy. In fact, it was during such a treatment that a physician noticed the Bell’s palsy patient’s face looked smoother and younger than it did before treatment had begun. Since that time, the microcurrent facial has become a mainstay in aesthetic medicine. The energy emitted from the microcurrent device is so subtle that it would take one million times the amount of energy to light a 40-watt light bulb.

How Is The Procedure Performed?

Microcurrent facial toning maybe a workout for the face but it’s relaxing for you. Before beginning, the technician applies a smooth gel over the skin. This is similar to the gel used for ultrasounds. Two metal prongs are used to administer electrical pulses of microcurrent energy to the face. The prongs communicate with one another and are moved in a particular way to help the muscles tone in their natural, lifted contours. The technician moves the prongs in the special motion from one part of the face to another until the entire area has been treated. During the procedure, you may feel slight stimulation like tiny zaps or warmth. Every person may feel the energetic reaction in their skin a little differently. None describe it as painful. The microcurrent device is adjustable. If the sensations are uncomfortable in any way, alert your technician so settings can be changed on the device platform. When the prongs are moved near the cheeks and mouth, a metallic taste may occur.

How Often Should I Get Microcurrent Facial Treatments?

Getting one microcurrent treatment would be like going to the gym one time and expecting lasting results. It is important to approach microcurrent treatments with this in mind so you understand why your provider will recommend a series of sessions. Most people need approximately 12 sessions in total to achieve truly dramatic results. These are conducted as one to two sessions a week for a few weeks and then tapering to one treatment a week for the duration of the treatment plan. Every situation is unique so your provider will develop a plan for your particular needs. After the initial series of microcurrent sessions, touch-ups can be performed as often as once a month depending on desired results. Some people schedule touch-ups only every 3 months.

Microcurrent Facial Results

Microcurrent facial toning can be tricky. Some patients notice an immediate difference in the radiance and firmness of their skin. Some notice visible lifting in areas like the eyes or the jawline. The skin often looks smooth and plump right after microcurrent treatment. However, this is fleeting. The real improvements from this process occur over time.

Microcurrent facial toning has been proven to increase:

  • Cellular energy (ATP) by 500%, leading to improved muscle tone
  • Natural collagen production by 12% within 20 days of the first treatment
  • Natural elastin production by 48% within 20 days of the first treatment
  • Blood circulation by 39% within 20 days of the first treatment

Is Microcurrent Facial Toning Right For Me?

Microcurrent treatments are excellent for any adult who wants to preserve or improve the appearance of youthful, plump, firm skin. This safe and effective treatment is suitable for all skin types and colors. There are very few exceptions to the suitability of microcurrent, including pregnant women and people with a pacemaker or metal implant. Clients should discuss skin sensitivities or allergies with their provider before beginning treatment.

What Other Treatments Can Be Combined With Microcurrent Facial Toning?

Combining procedures is a great way to enhance the outcome of any beauty treatment. Microcurrent facial toning may be combined with resurfacing treatments like chemical peels, dermaplaning, and other techniques that address various concerns. Your provider can develop a personalized treatment plan based on your skin and your desired improvements.
